I created Dublin Therapy Clinic to work with adults who are ready to commit to the process of understanding themselves and making the changes they are looking for in their lives.
Everyone has the right to growth and healing, that is what makes life rich and vibrant. Yet sometimes, we may get overwhelmed, confused or simply stuck when faced with a difficulty. In these times, we need someone else to support us. If you are reading this page, perhaps you are ready to reach out. As a psychotherapist, I work to provide this support to my clients through a warm, caring and genuine relationship.
I, like many other therapists, have been where you are now. I know the difference talk-therapy, and other therapies like meditation and breathwork, made in my life. It is the transformation in my own life that led me to train in this field. Therefore, I feel passionate about walking with others as they seek to grow, change, heal, and understand themselves better.
Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship difficulties or you need support in making a big life decision; whatever it is, I encourage you to consider talk therapy.
When you learn to ask for what you need and to treat yourself with compassion and kindness; when you understand your emotions and learn how to regulate them; when you learn to manage your thoughts and to be present; then not alone is your own life transformed, but all your relationships benefit.
Throughout my life, I have travelled to many wonderful places and had many adventures. The greatest adventure of all has been my personal journey of self-discovery. That journey led to many opportunities to explore self-awareness and spirituality, but most importantly, it brought me to a place of wholeness and healing. I came across extraordinary mentors and spiritual teachers and learned from them. I have embraced it all, and now I integrate it into my work with clients.
I am an accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselors and Psychotherapists (IACP) with over 12 years of experience in various mental health settings. In addition to holding a degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am a qualified Yoga and Meditation teacher. I have done further training, including Family Systems Constellation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotion Focussed Therapy.
I am passionate about sharing the dual perspectives of Psychotherapy and Eastern Wisdom. Having practised meditation for several years, I believe strongly in the calming effect of meditation. I incorporate meditation and breathwork in my practice as they consistently prove beneficial in helping reduce stress and expanding awareness.
I have experience in a wide range of therapeutic work, including self-esteem, addiction, life changes, existential issues, spirituality, eating disorders, body image, relationships and family problems, depression, and anxiety, including panic attacks.
During the initial session we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy, the issues you would like to address and the goals you are hoping to achieve. These may be: managing anxiety and stress, building more positive relationships, improving self esteem or communication. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and to find out more about how therapy works. If you decide to continue with a psychotherapy, you will be asked to commit to attending regular sessions. The first session will involve contracting. The contract will include, but not be limited to confidentiality, cost, cancellation policy and frequency of sessions.
Duration and frequency of sessions
Weekly sessions are the norm, although there will be times when it may be appropriate to have sessions more or less frequently. I work with short term clients, but I highly recommend starting at a minimum of 6 sessions. Less than 6 sessions may not be sufficient to enable real, lasting change. The standard length of a session is 55 minutes.
